Got a new painting up on eBay right now. This one I titled as “Love Me?”. This one is of one of my favorite characters, the skull bunny. The painting is all acrylic, signed and dated, on wood. Got a new painting up on eBay right now. Its set as a five-day auction and opening bid is just 9 bucks! I know its been a looooooooooooong time since I’ve painted anything, but, after exorcising a few demons I feel I’m back to picking up my brushes again. I know this is just a simple painting but, it felt great to be painting again. I’m definitely motivated once again to produce more work. I really feel like I’m back up on the horse and ready to create. I’m also working on two other paintings right now that will also be sold only on eBay. I might be doing an upcoming show in L.A. sometime around November as well. Feels good to get back to what I love. Check out the auction here on eBay….I also listed a few older paintings as well. Whats up everyone. Sorry for the lack of posts as of late. I’ve been busy with all sorts of side projects! Anyhow, I wanted to let everyone know that I am participating in the all new Jax Art Hunt that will take place this Saturday 2/5! I have donated the painting above titled “The Darkness Within”…i think it measure 11×16 and also a smaller 8×8 piece with a “skull bunny” holding balloons. So what is this art hunt all about? Is the art work really free? Well, several local artists are donating works, for free, to be placed in hidden locations all around Jacksonville for anyone interested to get out there and hunt these pieces down. Once ya find a painting it is yours to keep. All we ask in return is that you let us know you found it via the Jax Art Hunt Facebook page or twitter account….or hell just email the artist even! I think this is such a great way to get art work out there in the public and attract folks who may be a little intimidated by art shows and art gallery settings. I think it just makes the work a lot more accessible to the masses out there and hey, this is gonna be a lot of fun too. Here is a link to all the information you need about the Art Hunt via my buddy and awesome artist Yvonne Lozano. Yvonne has done a terrific job getting this organized and getting the ball rolling. Lets have some fun and get out there and hunt down some art work.-
From Yvonne Lozano: “The art is being donated by local talent, the first hunt will be Saturday, Feb. 5th, 2011, the art will strategically be placed around town, then clues will be uploaded via Facebook and Twitter. Art will be found in one of two ways: either by someone who happens to be in the right place at the right time and stumbles into it or by someone actively following the clues. The work is free to anyone who finds it first, the only thing we ask is that you contact us and let us know the work was found, hopefully take a pic of yourself with the work so we can post it on our website. This is better than finding a brand new TV on the side of the road, because unlike a TV that depreciates in value, art is invaluable, it’s an investment, it feeds the soul, sparks your imagination, and it’s candy for your eyes. This is the beginning of something great and I’m looking forward to the positive impact this will have on our city and beyond.”

Whats up everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I was busy with painting and sculpting out a custom vinyl toy. Rose Art has created some customizable, blank, vinyl, figures very similar to Kidrobots Dunny and Munny DIY characters. This was a lot of fun! The dude has a pumpkin head so I decided to take out my exacto blade and gave the pumpkin a hand carved face. The figure is really cool and really easy to work with, I named the piece “Tricks & Treats”, he’s all hand carved, hand painted, and even wears a purple cloak. I plan on doing more figures very soon! I also have my “Night Owl” painting up for grabs as well! Heres a description of the Night Owl piece: This is an original painting/art piece by Brian Gray. It is one of a kind and not a reproduction of any sort. This is for the 100% original custom design by me. This piece is done on high quality gallery wrapped canvas with painted sides. The painting has all ready been wired and is ready to be hung. The painting was inspired by my child hood fear of owls. Sounds crazy huh? Well, when I lived in MI we used to camp a lot. I made up a story to my brother about an owl that would hoot at night to warn people he was on the prowl and he would be looking to take people’s souls. I told him it was an old ancient owl that the Indians used to worship. I told him the it used to lead the souls of dead Indians to the after life but, after all the Indians were run off, the owl started coming after the living and would attack those who entered the old Indian grounds. Scared him, scared me, and the rest is history.

Im looking forward to the new show coming up at Bogda Gallery here in Jacksonville. Totem if ya Got ‘Em is the brain child of my friend Jack Diablo. The idea is to paint our “spirit animals” or Totems in a group show thats truly going to be a magical experience! The line up of artists is pretty damn solid. Cant wait to see what everyone cooks up for the show. Im working on a half octopus, half rabbit, half skeleton, creature for the show. Ill post pics as soon as I get some time to settle down. Just posted up the new painting of the week on eBay. I titled this piece “Causes Side Effects”. We live in a world of fast food doctoring. Doctors are so quick to get you in and out of there office as fast as they can to serve the next sucker with a dose of useless medications and remedies to diseases we never thought we had….and probably dont. Then they drug us up in a never ending pile of medications, pills, and crap just to give us horrible side effect that we then need to take more medications for…the cycle never ends. Welcome to the year 2009. All your problems can be solved through medication. As you can see from the painting…this really annoysthe hell out of me. Anyhow, bidding starts of at just 12.00!!! I also have an older painting of mine that I’m willing to put up for auction as well. The painting is titled “Lost Souls”, measures 9×12, and is all acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas.
